I really have learned a lot since the first day of class. I remember getting my camera for the first time, and being impressed with its incredible capabilities. 42x optical zoom, shutter speed ranging from 15 seconds to 1/2000th of a second, and an impressive macro function were all things I was pretty fascinated by at first. Well, first I had to learn what all that meant. And I guess those fascinations never really stopped. I remember not knowing how macs worked and being incredibly confused the first time I opened Photoshop. I remember using some tool or other on a new file and not having any idea what I was doing, and I remember seeing someone having a flower in color and the background in black and white. I was blown away by this and wondered how I could ever learn to do something that cool. Recently, we had to A Splash Of Color assignment where you're required to do the same thing, and I did it in about a minute. I had so much time on my hands at the beginning of the Trimester that I spent a lot of time setting up shots and taking beautiful pictures. Even though this was one of my earlier pictures, it's one of the ones that I'm most proud of. I think I've learned a lot of technical knowledge, like how Photoshop works and how to use a camera. Take this example of light painting: And compare it to this picture of my cat that I took early on: I think this class was a more valuable part of my education than it may outwardly seem. While a lot of classes affect your GPA or show you how well you do on tests, this class taught me a lot about my work ethic and how to create art.

Our last photoshop assignment was a project called Multiple Me. We had to create an image in which we were represented several times. We did this by taking several pictures with the same setting and settings, but with us in different positions, and layering and editing them in Photoshop. I did one where I was doing several questionable things in my living room, and one where I was doing several things on that balcony area above the main hallway. As usual, I learned even more about photoshop, and I was surprised that certain things were so difficult and certain things were so easy.
